The business is uniquely positioned to help clients make payments across borders, across currencies and regulations, quickly and cost effectively with dedicated in country and regional support. Our expertise in this area is repeatedly recognised by the industry’s most prominent publications and associations with numerous global, regional and country awards.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Payment Services team.

Role Purpose

To lead and direct an experienced team of 13 FTE handling service delivery of Investigation of Inward remittances, outward Remittances, correspondent bank funding Operations and Payments. The key responsibilities and results include:

  • Service delivery of remittances investigations by ensuring that we meet SLA TAT with requisite customer service.
  • Interact with all major business functions for optimum customer service.
  • Monitor performance of employees and unionized staff in the given unit

  • Standardization of the process of Outward remittances PAN India
  • Monitoring key risk areas and develop mitigates.
  • Share and implement best practices from the market

  • Coordinate with remittances team Pan India

Role Context

  • Completion of remittances processing within the SLA cut off.
  • Handling of multi varied regulations as per purpose and risks associated with the interpretation of regulation.

Management of Risk

  • The job holder has to ensure that all guidelines as laid out internally (FIM/BIM, Internal Compliance and Audit) and externally (RBI regulations)
  • A key risk aspect where the job holder is expected to provide leadership is Fraud risk.
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with Group Operations FIM

Observation of Internal Controls

  • Maintain and observe HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Regional Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimizing relations with regulators Maintain awareness of operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with of the Group Operations FIM
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree / Graduation or as required for the role, whichever is higher
  • Experience in FEMA regulations
  • knowledge of SWIFT messaging platform
