Job Description:


The Home Lending (HL) Servicing Finance Team supports the HL Chief Financial Officer and the Servicing Business Finance Teams. It serves as the financial and planning resource to help executives manage operations, forecast resources, and gain insight into the business P&L. In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will drive the opportunity to partner directly with Servicing business leaders, and gain knowledge of operational processes in both the originations & servicing functions across Home Lending. The job entails analyzing key business drivers to forecast staffing and operating expense requirements while providing financial insight and decision support to ensure all business objectives are accomplished. To succeed in this role, one will need to have a genuine interest in developing relationships with the business and other stakeholders, the ability to use data and information to solve real business challenges, strong financial, analytical and technical skills, and flexibility to adapt to rapid changes in the work environment.

In addition to being a team player, the successful candidate will have leadership responsibilities which will include managing a team of 6-7 members and directing strategic financial analysis, oversight of budgeting and forecasting coordination, and providing guidance to select Servicing senior leadership team on decisions impacting financial profitability and strategic direction. You will be expected to provide leadership across both the business and finance teams.


Key Responsibilities



  • Leading a team of 6-7 financial analysts

  • Partnering with select business leaders to ensure business practices also meet financial goals

  • Contributing forward thinking financial insight to support strategic planning efforts

  • Oversight for:

    • Financial budgeting, reporting, forecasting and analysis

    • Efficiency reporting, analytics and strategy - including, but not limited to - location strategy, span of control, reporting and analytics

    • Financial business cases supporting business initiatives



  • Creating senior level business review presentation material

  • Development and tracking of key performance metrics, creating presentations, and generally providing financial analysis on a variety of topics to senior management

  • Enhancing financial controls and streamlining processes, introducing automation where possible

  • Partner with business to gather insights on changes to operations, volume/productivity, and strategic initiatives

  • Act as key liaison between business leads and Servicing CFO / Home Lending finance organization

    • Analyze P&Ls, drivers, and productivity metrics to create value-added reporting used to develop business strategy

    • Collaborate closely with Capacity partners to ensure alignment/accuracy of headcount forecasts based on demand driven capacity model staffing requirements

    • Manage business reviews, ensuring key strategy, financial risks/opportunities, and other priority items are effectively communicated across finance and business leadership

    • Conduct and problem solve ad-hoc financial analysis based on senior management requests



  • Perform accurate month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes including variance analysis

  • Proactively identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to finance processes or operational reporting



Skills / Competencies Needed/Education Qualifications



  • CA/ MBA (Finance) (or similar educational background) with 8+ years of post-qualification relevant experience in banking industry

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Effectively communicate across different stakeholders and present results highlighting broad strategic impact

  • Identify, gather, and analyze data to support hypotheses and ultimately develop actionable insights on key issues

  • Ability to expertly manage and quickly pivot between lowest level analysis and high-level story telling of data

  • Strong team player with self-starting motivation and flexible work style

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Excel (Essbase) PowerPoint (PitchPRO+)

  • Excellent communication and partnering skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously within team environment

  • Expert knowledge of Excel (i.e. use of pivot tables, macros, arrays, etc), MS Access

  • Shift timings: 2.00 pm till 11.00 pm
