Team Overview:
Sales team within United is the largest revenue-generation department. We work closely with United’s commercial teams such as Revenue Management, Network Planning, Mileage Plus, Loyalty and Marketing; and drive strategic decisions on Corporate and Travel management company sales for United
Role Overview:
The team is currently looking for an analyst who has a passion for problem solving, data analytics, visualization, and automation. This position holder should possess ability to connect and correlate data points from the different systems to draw strategic insights. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in International Sales will be a key to this role. Additionally, this role requires critical thinking and ability to spot improvement opportunities and recommend solutions for process automation/improvements
Job responsibilities:
- Execute alternative solutions to business problems by using data analysis, data mining and problem-solving techniques. Communicate the results in clear and concise way to stakeholders
- Develop complex queries using multiple databases
- Partner and collaborate with team leaders across different business verticals
- Design and Develop Dashboards in Power BI / Spotfire
- Develop and enhance automated reporting templates that communicate KPI, trends and deviations to stakeholders
- Own and manage multiple data initiatives and projects both on an on-going and an ad-hoc basis, while using new approaches of data analytics. Develop and execute SQL/SAS/R (or related) programs with minimal direction and supervision
- Actively work with Sales leadership to understand and adapt to post-Covid fast changing marketplace
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Required
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree in a quantitative field like Math, Statistics, Operations Research and/or MBA preferred
- 4 -6 years in an analytics role in data services/product firm, post MBA (0-2years)
- Be proficient in using database querying tools and able to write complex queries and procedures using Teradata SQL and/or Microsoft TSQL
- 3+ years of experience in any of the visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated expert problem solving and out of the box thinking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred
- Approximately 3-4 weeks of travel to US (or other International Sales locations) in a year
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship.
