Accountant

Job description / Role

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team in the refinery and oil and gas industry in Fujairah, UAE. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements related to refinery and oil and gas operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flows effectively.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and support tax filing processes.
- Collaborate with various departments to support budgeting and financial planning.
- Implement and maintain accounting procedures and controls tailored to industry-specific needs.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within refinery or oil and gas sectors.
- Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external auditors.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
