The Swedish Food Market and Bistro Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Food and Beverages Manager by supervising daily kitchen and service operations, engaging with customers, and driving sales growth. The role focuses on guest satisfaction, team leadership, food safety, and cost control while reinforcing IKEA values and brand standards in a high-volume retail environment.Key Responsibilities

• Ensure guests are always prioritized, delivering friendly, attentive, and professional service
• Lead by example as a brand ambassador for IKEA Food services
• Engage with customers daily to gather feedback and support continuous improvement
• Support the store business plan and contribute to food service action plans
• Ensure attractive presentation, availability, and communication of the food range
• Share product knowledge including origin, content, and benefits with guests and colleagues
• Monitor top-selling products to ensure availability and correct display
• Support in-store marketing activities and implement range changes efficiently
• Monitor food costs, operational expenses, productivity, and sales mix
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, food safety, and hygiene standards
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene across all food service areas
• Support cashiering, manual tasks, and prolonged standing duties as required
• Coach and support team members to meet service standards and grow professionally

Ideal Profile

• High school or trade school qualification, preferably in hospitality, business, or culinary studies
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience in food service or hospitality
• Strong customer service orientation with proven leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
• Good analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic proficiency in computers and retail systems
