Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for supporting and driving the company's B2B commercial growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, preparing proposals, and coordinating commercial pest control and environmental service projects. The role contributes to expanding the company's presence across corporate clients, hotels, residential developers, government entities, and commercial facilities while ensuring strong pipeline management and revenue delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and pursue new B2B opportunities across the market within pest control and environmental services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and partnership opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads.

Client Relations & Account Management

  • Support in managing key clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term engagement.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits to understand pest control and environmental service requirements.
  • Provide timely follow-ups, quotations, and commercial insights to clients.

Commercial Proposals & Tenders

  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and tender submissions for pest control and environmental services, ensuring accuracy and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with Projects, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure feasibility and correct pricing.
  • Assist in developing business cases and ROI models for commercial opportunities.

Project Coordination Support

  • Coordinate with the Projects team on service mobilization, site readiness, and operational planning for pest control contracts.
  • Track project timelines, client approvals, and deliverables.
  • Ensure smooth handover of completed projects to service and operations teams.

Revenue & Performance Management

  • Achieve sales targets through a healthy pipeline.
  • Track KPIs such as leads, proposals, conversion rates, and revenue contribution.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen commercial performance.

Partnerships & External Engagement

  • Engage with suppliers, industry partners, and environmental service stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities.
  • Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, and industry gatherings related to pest control and environmental services.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing for BD campaigns, presentations, and event activations.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain for material availability and service-related inputs.
  • Align with Finance on payment terms, invoicing, and profitability checks.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, contacts, proposals, and follow-ups.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on BD performance and pipeline updates.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy for contracts and proposals.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum Experience: 15 years of experience in business development or B2B sales. Experience in pest control, facilities management, environmental services, or related sectors is preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

Job Specific:

Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, proposals, and client relations. Knowledge of pest control services, environmental compliance, or facilities-based service delivery is an advantage. Experience preparing quotations, proposals, and tenders.

Generic Skills:

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities. Analytical and detail-oriented mindset. Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
