About the Role Procurement Engineer (Daily Purchase Research)

The Procurement Engineer Daily Purchase (Research) is a support and intelligence-focused role responsible for researching, benchmarking, and validating vendors, prices, and availability for high-frequency, low-to-medium value procurement items used on a daily basis at project sites.

This role enables faster purchasing decisions, cost consistency, and compliance, while reducing operational risk and price variability.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Purchase Research & Vendor Intelligence

• Conduct market research for daily-use construction materials and consumables
• Identify and benchmark local suppliers, distributors, and traders
• Track price fluctuations, availability, lead times, and delivery capabilities

• Maintain approved vendor and item-wise rate benchmarks

Commercial & Technical Support

• Prepare price comparison sheets and vendor evaluation summaries
• Validate technical suitability and specifications of daily purchase items
• Support procurement teams with quick cost estimates and alternatives
• Assist in standardizing commonly used materials and specifications

Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with site teams, storekeepers, and procurement officers to understand daily requirements
• Support preparation of PRs and purchase justifications
• Maintain structured vendor databases, rate lists, and purchase history records
• Ensure documentation complies with procurement policies and audit requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
• 48 years of experience in daily purchase, site procurement, or procurement research roles
• Strong exposure to construction consumables and fast-moving materials
• Experience in UAE / GCC construction markets is preferred

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of construction materials used in daily site operations
• Excellent market research, benchmarking, and analytical skills
• Ability to prepare quick comparisons and data-backed recommendations
• Strong coordination and follow-up skills with site and procurement teams
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement documentation tools
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on cost control, speed, and accuracy
• Ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-turnaround environment
