Global Business Services

Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview:

The AML/KYC process focuses on onboarding institutional clients across Global Banking and Global Markets. This role involves executing Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and conducting enhanced client due diligence using AWARE (Anti-Money Laundering Workflows and Rules Engine).

The Lead Java Developer/Architect will design, develop, and optimize large-scale web-based solutions supporting AML/KYC processes, regulatory reporting, and transaction monitoring systems. This role involves implementing client onboarding workflows for institutional clients in Global Banking and Global Markets, leveraging AWARE (Anti-Money Laundering Workflows and Rules Engine). The AML/KYC lifecycle includes Onboarding, Due Diligence, Refresh, and Offboarding, interacting with multiple downstream systems to aggregate data, apply AML rules, and flag risk indicators (Green, Amber, Red).

Responsibilities:

Application Development & System Design

• Design and develop complex Java/Spring Boot modules, UI components, and RESTful Cloud Native applications for AML/KYC workflows.

• Implement PL/SQL procedures, packages, and triggers for high-volume banking applications.
• Optimize application and SQL performance for transaction-heavy systems ensuring scalability and high availability.

AML/KYC Workflow Integration

• Automate AML/KYC data workflows, transaction monitoring reports, and exception handling using AWARE.
• Integrate multiple systems (Oracle, APIs, flat files) for seamless data processing in batch and real-time modes.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards across onboarding, due diligence, refresh, and offboarding phases.

Automation & Scripting

• Develop Unix shell scripts for job scheduling, data feeds, and system monitoring.
• Build Python-based utilities for process optimization, data validation, and reporting automation.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with AML analysts, compliance teams, and solution architects to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce best practices in coding, design reviews, and technical standards.
• Ability to collaborate with Global Stakeholders with a futuristic mindset, propose multiple solutions and able to bring in Innovative Technical leadership style

Innovation & Emerging Tech

• Leverage Gen AI and Prompt Engineering for automation and productivity enhancements.
• Utilize GitHub Copilot for accelerated development exposure to ML fundamentals is a plus.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or related discipline

Certifications (if any):

AWS Solution Architect

Experience Range: 12+ years

Foundational Skills:

• Domain Expertise: AML/KYC processes, institutional client onboarding, and regulatory compliance.
• 12+ years of experience in banking/financial services technology.
• Strong skills in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Oracle PL/SQL, CoPilot, System Design and performance tuning, Reactive Programming
• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerized deployments (OpenShift).
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting and Python for automation.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
