Job Title : Head Taxation

Desired Qualification & Experience: CA with 10+ years of experience in direct and indirect tax, including team management.

Job Location: Azamabad, Near RTC Cross Road, Hyderabad

Main purpose of the Job:

Lead the organizations tax strategy, compliance, and planning functions. This senior leadership role will be responsible for overseeing all direct and indirect tax activities, managing tax risk, supporting global operations, driving tax efficiency and liaising with regulatory authorities and consultants.

Job responsibilities:

Direct Taxation:

• Lead compliance with direct tax regulations including TDS/TCS payments and returns, Advance Tax, and final tax returns.
• Manage Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing documentation, including submission of Master File and other statutory reports.
• Review and support the filing of Form 15CA/15CB for foreign remittances, ensuring regulatory accuracy and timeliness.
• 
  Evaluate tax positions and exposures related to cross-border transactions and permanent establishment risks.

Indirect Taxation (GST):

• Oversee GST compliance including monthly and annual returns (GSTR-1, 3B, 7A, 9, 9C, ITC-04).
• Review GST classifications, HSN codes, rate rationalizations, and tax applicability across products and services.
• Lead the processing and follow-up of GST refunds and adjudications.

Tax Advisory and Strategic Support:

• Advise business functions on tax implications of complex transactions, including payments to foreign vendors and GST under reverse charge.
• Partner with legal, procurement, and business teams to ensure tax-compliant structuring of contracts and arrangements.
• Support M&A, business expansions, or reorganizations from a tax planning and due diligence perspective.

Global Compliance and Governance:

• Supervise tax compliance for overseas entities with the assistance of local consultants and internal finance teams.
• Ensure alignment with global tax laws, BEPS guidelines, and emerging regulatory changes.

Assessment, Litigation & Representation:

• Handle assessments, appeals, and litigation processes at various forums, coordinating with legal teams and tax advisors.
• Prepare robust documentation and responses to regulatory notices and scrutiny.

Leadership & Reporting:

• Build and lead a team of tax professionals and foster a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with auditors and senior leadership to ensure seamless tax audits and reporting.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on tax matters, compliance health, key risks, and litigation status.

Special Projects & Incentives:

• Manage DSIR recognition renewals for R&D units and oversee government incentive schemes such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
• Drive technology adoption and process automation in the tax function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Candidate desired skills:

• Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in direct and indirect tax, including team management and regulatory interaction.
• Strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations, GST, transfer pricing, and international tax frameworks.
• Proven experience in handling tax audits, assessments, and litigations.
• High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
