The Digital & Technology (D&T) organization leads enterprise-wide digital transformation through AI/ML, Data Engineering, Cloud, Automation, Cybersecurity, SAP S/4HANA, and Enterprise Architecture. The team operates in agile pods under the MillsWorks model, fostering innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and a Work with Heart culture.

JOB OVERVIEW

Function Overview

The Enterprise Data Development team designs and architects solutions to integrate, transform, and deliver enterprise data using modern cloud technologies, primarily GCP. The team enables a unified enterprise data layer by integrating internal and external data sources, supporting advanced analytics and actionable insights.

This role partners closely with business, analytics, and architecture teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions that combine process, technology, and business information to power General Mills corporate information factory.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design, develop, code, and support scalable data pipelines and data models on cloud platforms (GCP preferred)

• Build and support enterprise data warehouses and associated batch, real-time, and streaming data jobs

• Partner with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to deliver business-driven data initiatives

• Lead or contribute to small-to-medium projects and support large enterprise data programs

• Actively mentor junior developers and contribute to team capability building

• Troubleshoot technical, data quality, and performance issues across the data ecosystem

• Participate in evaluation, implementation, and rollout of emerging big data and cloud technologies

• Promote automation, CI/CD, and continuous improvement to eliminate waste and streamline processes

  

• Proactively research new tools, frameworks, and techniques in data engineering

• Navigate ambiguity and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively

• Contribute reusable assets and best practices to the broader General Mills data community

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 5-12+ years of experience in ETL / Data Engineering, with at least 2+ years in cloud-based data platforms

• Experience acting as a technical or project lead on global initiatives

• Strong ability to coach, mentor, and guide development teams

• Proven track record of delivery accuracy, attention to detail, and deadline management

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Self-motivated team player capable of overcoming complex challenges
