The role will require the Data Engineer to be involved in the complete business intelligence development lifecycle, gather and define requirements, identify new opportunities and client issues, and will be responsible for implementing end to end Data & Reporting solutions to the existing customer base. In addition to being a core component of the Applications, Data and Business Intelligence Team providing reporting and data support, governance and guidance on best practices to peer teams.

Development Responsibilities

▪ Undertake all aspects enterprise Data and Reporting related development, developing and presenting prototypes as required by the business 

▪ Design & Develop (structured/unstructured) Data Acquisition, Movement, Transformation processes between application/services/solutions (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, other enterprise ETL Platform)

▪ Undertake Data Warehouse design, development and testing, in accordance to Kimball/Data Vault design methodologies

▪ Design & Develop Master Data Entities, and provide data quality guidance and best practices

▪ Design and develop business data models in the relevant technology stack

▪ Design and develop data integration processes between applications and business system

▪ Design, Deliver and Support Reporting solutions (Power BI, Excel, QlikView and other 3rd party reporting applications)

▪ Assess legacy reporting applications and provide suitable recommendations for recommendations/upgrades Support Responsibilities

▪ Provide data and business intelligence application and technical support to end users across all current and future BI applications and solutions (Microsoft, QlikView and other 3rd party applications)

▪ Document all BI/ETL development, data structures and maintain the documentation sets in an up-to-date state

▪ Liaise with other IT Services and Business Users to identify, investigate and resolve application issues

▪ Undertake and support IT governance processes (Licence review etc.)

▪ Undertake and support business intelligence operational support activities (maintenance, health check, daily maintenance etc.)
