Job Description
Compliance Management Framework & Governance
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program aligned with RBIs guidelines, Basel standard, and applicable regulations.
- Establish and regularly update compliance P&P, standard and controls tailored to the branchs risk profile and business model.
- Report to management and HO on compliance risks, program effectiveness, and emerging regulatory requirements regularly and initiate necessary actions to refine the compliance management framework.
Regulatory Compliance & Liaison
- Serve as the main liaison with RBI and other regulatory agencies on compliance-related matters, including approvals, reporting, and examinations and etc.,
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, such as AML/CFT, privacy and data protection, and consumer protection etc.,.
AML & CFT Compliance
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the AML/CFT program in line with regulations set by RBI and FIU-IND.
- Ensure robust KYC/CDD procedures, suspicious transaction monitoring and reporting, sanctions screening, and training programs.
Compliance Risk Identification, Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate risk exposures across the branch by risk-based approach.
- Develop and manage key compliance risk indicators and compliance monitoring/testing plans.
- Lead investigations of compliance breaches and coordinate corrective actions.
- Present periodic reports on compliance status, regulatory issues, audit findings, and remediation progress to senior management, the Head Office, and regulators.
Culture Development & Team Leadership
- Delivery of compliance training and awareness initiatives across the branch to promote a compliance culture.
- Support business lines in embedding compliance-by-design principles and compliance risk management particularly for new product approvals, credit decisions, and strategic initiatives etc.,
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-functioning, diverse compliance team aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Requirement
- Minimum 15 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 5 years in the Audit, Finance, Compliance, Legal, or Risk Management functions. Experience working at a foreign bank in India, is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of RBI regulatory requirements and related Indian regulatory requirements applicable to a foreign bank.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin (oral and/or written) is a plus; able to prepare clear, professional reports and correspondence for Head Office and Indian stakeholders.
- Solid experience managing compliance risk through product launches and cross-border banking practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey compliance stance clearly to the business unit, senior management, regulators, and HO.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize effectively under pressure to meet business and regulatory deadlines.
- Knowledge exchange training sessions lasting 3 to 6 months might be required at the Head Office in Taiwan after onboarding.
