Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Early Career Academic in Accounting and Finance to join the founding academic team at the University of Liverpools India Campus. In this exciting role, you will not only contribute to world class teaching and academic delivery but also play a vital part in shaping a cutting edge, learner centric environment that mirrors the academic excellence of the Liverpool campus.
As an early career academic, you will be expected to bring academic rigor, a student first mindset, and a bold, future ready approach to teaching and learning excellence at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate teaching excellence in the public or private sector and will have a recognised professional accounting qualification

Key responsibilities and duties:??
This role is suited for an early to mid-career academic with a strong foundation in teaching and emerging research potential. The Assistant Professor will play an active role in designing and delivering modules across Finance and Accounting programmes , supporting student learning, and contributing to the academic life of the department. The appointee will also be encouraged to engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with the Universitys academic goals.
Early Career Academic in Accounting and Finance
Candidates are expected to have significant relevant experience of teaching and leading Accounting, Finance and Economics modules in a Higher Education or a private sector professional setting.
The department seeks excellence in all aspects of student experience. It seeks to recruit individuals with a passion for innovative pedagogies and the capacity to create and deliver new and highly contemporary modules.
Candidates should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability and enthusiasm to enhance student experience. Knowledge of the particular needs of international students would be an advantage. The ability to work with the existing academic team in programme and module management is an important requirement.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
Teaching
  • Lead and teach modules largely related to introductory modules in Accounting and Finance and Economics at undergraduate and potentially postgraduate levels, to specialists and non-specialists.
  • Supervise, mentor and advise students on academic related matters.
  • Contribute to module development and design, in addition to both teaching and assessment.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of students experience through academic advising, peer mentoring and student belonging initiatives.
Professional engagement and knowledge exchange
  • Work closely with academic organisations in knowledge exchange.
  • Build relationships with external professional and industry organisations.
Administration
  • Participate in and contribute to the running of activities in the department by undertaking administrative duties as agreed with the Associate Dean.
  • To attend relevant academic or management committees.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required .
Other Skills
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work co-operatively and effectively with colleagues and show enthusiasm for contributing in general to the department and with colleagues based at the home campus.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work .

Essential Qualifications And Attributes
  • A PhD in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience of teaching in a University or in the professional private sector with a demonstrable ability to teach undergraduate modules in accounting, finance and economics.
  • Excellent foundation knowledge required to teach core modules in Accounting/ Finance/Economics.
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills .
  • Ability and enthusiasm to teach to specialists and non-specialists, while enhancing the student experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work co-operatively and effectively with colleagues, and enthusiasm for contributing in general to the department and the University of Liverpool Bangaluru.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Ability and willingness to engage with the Universitys Student Success Framework, which aims to enhance the student experience through academic advising, peer mentoring and student belonging initiatives .
