Exide Energy Solutions Limited is a wholly owned Subsidiary of Exide Industries Limited, leading battery manufacturing and distribution company in India with annual revenues of $1.8+ Bn. Exide Energy Solutions Limited is investing $500+ Mn dollars to setup Indias first Giga plant to manufacture Lithium-Ion Cells at Devanahalli Industrial Area in Bengaluru. Exide Energy designs, develops, and manufactures Lithium Ion Cells and Battery Pack solutions for various energy storage. Exide Energy is a leading player in the market with OEM customers across key market applications 2W, 3W, 4W, CV and industrial applications. Job Location: Devanahalli, Bangalore
Purpose:
To support the organization by managing legal matters related to manufacturing operations, contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory requirements, while minimizing legal risk and ensuring adherence to applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Advisory & Compliance
- Provide legal advice to management and business teams on operational, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Companies Act, Contract Act, Industrial Laws, Environmental Laws, and other manufacturing-related regulations.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and assess their impact on business operations.
2. Contract Management
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet contracts such as:
- Vendor and supplier agreements
- Purchase orders and service contracts
- Logistics and transportation agreements
- NDAs, MOUs, and SLAs
- Ensure contracts protect the companys interests and mitigate risks.
- Handle and coordinate litigation, arbitration, and legal notices with external counsel.
- Prepare responses to legal notices, claims, and statutory communications.
- Maintain records of cases, track progress, and update management regularly.
4. Regulatory & Statutory Matters
- Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and legal consultants as required.
- Support statutory audits, inspections, and compliance filings.
- Assist in matters related to licenses, approvals, and renewals relevant to manufacturing facilities.
5. Corporate Governance
- Support corporate secretarial activities in coordination with CS (if applicable).
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, SOPs, and ethical standards.
- Assist in risk assessment and legal due diligence activities.
6. Documentation & Records
- Maintain legal documentation, contracts, and case files systematically.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper document control.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and manufacturing-related regulations
- Experience in handling litigation and coordination with external lawyers
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal interpretation skills

Desired Experience
- 5-8 years of post-qualification legal experience
- Prior experience in:
- Manufacturing / industrial companies (preferred)
- Corporate legal department or reputed law firm
- Hands-on exposure to contracts, compliance, and litigation management
Education & Qualifications
- LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university
- Enrollment with State Bar Council (mandatory)
- LLM or additional certifications in corporate/commercial law will be an advantage
