Job Description

Exide Energy Solutions Limited is investing $500+ Mn dollars to setup Indias first Giga plant to manufacture Lithium-Ion Cells at Devanahalli Industrial Area in Bengaluru. Job Location: Devanahalli, Bangalore


Purpose:

To support the organization by managing legal matters related to manufacturing operations, contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory requirements, while minimizing legal risk and ensuring adherence to applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Advisory & Compliance

  • Provide legal advice to management and business teams on operational, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Companies Act, Contract Act, Industrial Laws, Environmental Laws, and other manufacturing-related regulations.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and assess their impact on business operations.

2. Contract Management

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and vet contracts such as:
    • Vendor and supplier agreements
    • Purchase orders and service contracts
    • Logistics and transportation agreements
    • NDAs, MOUs, and SLAs
  • Ensure contracts protect the companys interests and mitigate risks.

3. Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Handle and coordinate litigation, arbitration, and legal notices with external counsel.
  • Prepare responses to legal notices, claims, and statutory communications.
  • Maintain records of cases, track progress, and update management regularly.

4. Regulatory & Statutory Matters

  • Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and legal consultants as required.
  • Support statutory audits, inspections, and compliance filings.
  • Assist in matters related to licenses, approvals, and renewals relevant to manufacturing facilities.

5. Corporate Governance

  • Support corporate secretarial activities in coordination with CS (if applicable).
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, SOPs, and ethical standards.
  • Assist in risk assessment and legal due diligence activities.

6. Documentation & Records

  • Maintain legal documentation, contracts, and case files systematically.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper document control.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and manufacturing-related regulations
  • Experience in handling litigation and coordination with external lawyers

    Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal interpretation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

Desired Experience

  • 5-8 years of post-qualification legal experience
  • Prior experience in:
    • Manufacturing / industrial companies (preferred)
    • Corporate legal department or reputed law firm
  • Hands-on exposure to contracts, compliance, and litigation management

Education & Qualifications

  • LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university
  • Enrollment with State Bar Council (mandatory)
  • LLM or additional certifications in corporate/commercial law will be an advantage
