Fam is Indias first payments app for everyone above 11. FamApp helps make online and offline payments through UPI and FamCard. We are on a mission to raise a new, financially aware generation, and drive 250 million+ youngest users in India to kickstart their financial journey super early in their life.
About the Role
Were looking for a Mobile Tech Lead Manager to lead and scale Fams mobile engineering teams powering products used by 10M+ users. This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership, people management, and execution excellence.
You will be responsible for owning delivery outcomes, growing and mentoring mobile engineers, and ensuring high standards of architecture, performance, and reliability across iOS and Android.
Youll partner closely with Mobile Architect, Product, Design, and Platform teams to translate vision into high-quality execution at scale.

What Youll Do
Hands-on Technical Leadership (Primary Focus)
- Write production-quality code daily across core product features and shared mobile components
- Own design and implementation of complex mobile flows end-to-end
- Lead architecture and design discussions at the feature and module level
- Perform deep, high-signal code reviews to maintain quality, performance, and scalability
- Drive modularisation, reuse, and simplification of mobile codebases
- Debug and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and crashes
- Partner with Backend teams to design APIs, caching, sync, and offline-first behaviour
Execution & Delivery Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery
of mobile initiatives, from planning to release and post-launch stability
- Drive sprint execution, capacity planning, prioritization, and dependency management
- Partner with Product Managers to translate business goals into clear technical plans and milestones
- Ensure predictable delivery while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
- Lead incident response, production issues, and postmortems for mobile systems
Technical Leadership (Hands-on + Directional)
- Act as Tech Lead for a small squad (4-6 engineers)
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, reviews, and design guidance
- Support growth of senior engineers into strong ownersProvide regular feedback and input into performance cycles
- Own end-to-end delivery of mobile initiatives - from planning to release and post-launch stability
- Drive sprint execution, capacity planning, prioritization, and dependency management
- Partner with Product Managers to translate business goals into clear technical plans and milestones
- Ensure predictable delivery while balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
- Lead incident response, production issues, and postmortems for mobile systems
Quality, Performance & Governance
- Establish and enforce standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and release processes
- Track and improve key mobile metrics: app startup time, ANRs, crashes, latency, and reliability
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and platform guidelines
- Continuously improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and processes
Must Have
- 7-10 years of hands-on mobile development experience
- Strong production experience in Android (Kotlin) and/or iOS (Swift) (at least one deeply)
- Proven track record of shipping and operating consumer-scale mobile apps (10M+ users)
- Deep understanding of mobile architectures (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Redux-style)
- Excellent debugging skills across performance, memory, networking, and crashes
- Experience owning features end-to-end in a fast-moving product environment
- Prior experience as a Tech Lead / Senior IC mentoring other engineers
- Comfortable balancing coding first with light leadership responsibilities

- Familiarity with cross-platform technologies (Flutter, KMP, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI)
- Experience with mobile security, data protection, and compliance requirements
- Track record of improving engineering processes and team maturity
