Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and budgets for management and stakeholders.
• Conduct regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and drive business growth.
• Work closely with the VP-Finance to develop financial forecasts, budget plans, and strategic financial initiatives.
• Ensure timely completion of tax filings, audits, and other financial compliance requirements.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the financial landscape.
• Ensure effective handling and resolution of notices served by government authorities in a timely manner, ensuring compliance and closure.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Build and supervise a team of finance personnel, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Implement accounting systems and processes to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate and produce all tax documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Lead annual & Internal audits, ensuring a smooth and timely audit process with external auditors.
• Control the master data of the general register to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Review and release online banking payments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide ongoing accounting and reporting support to cross-functional teams, addressing queries and offering financial insights.
• Maintain the speed and accuracy of billings and client payments, resolving any issues promptly.
• Monitor transactions regularly, identifying and addressing discrepancies or irregularities.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve process efficiency through the implementation of necessary tools, technologies, and automation.

Desired Skills and Experience:

NxtWave is looking for candidates with the following skills, qualifications and experience:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Masters degree or CA qualification is a plus.
• 3-5 years of proven experience in financial management, preferably in a finance manager or similar role.
• Strong knowledge and experience with financial management systems, including expertise in Netsuite ERP.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and supporting decision-making.
• Proficient in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting processes.
• Thorough understanding of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit coordination.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide strategic recommendations.
• Experience in the EdTech or startup industry is a plus
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the financial landscape.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
