Job Title: Financial Controller/ Manager

Svenska Design Hotels is a European chain of upscale boutique hotels with 40 hotels across India. We are looking for a skilled and dynamic finance professional to lead our finance & accounts team at our 5-star luxury hotel in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. As a Financial Controller/ Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and success of our organisation.
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to drive business growth and profitability
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organisational goals
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to mitigate financial risks.
3. Financial Operations Management:
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cash management.
- Review and analyze financial data, identify variances, and propose corrective actions to enhance financial performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and optimize resource allocation.
4. Financial Strategy and Decision Support:
- Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to senior management for effective decision-making and resource allocation
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate investment opportunities and potential business ventures
- Support business development initiatives through financial analysis, due diligence, and financial feasibility studies.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor finance & accounts team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Provide guidance and training on financial matters, ensuring team members professional development and growth
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with other departments to achieve financial objectives and organisational goals
- A financial qualification such as a CA, CFA, or MBA in Finance is desirable, but Bachelors qualification combined with strong finance/ accounts background is acceptable, preferably in the hospitality/ hotel industry
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and analysis, within the hospitality or related industry
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficient in financial software applications and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing and developing a finance team
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
