Job Title: Business Development Executive

Location: Remote

Work Schedule: EST (US Timings); 5 days a week (may include weekends)

Requirements:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive to drive new client acquisition through outbound sales activities and freelance marketplaces such as Upwork. This role is ideal for a sales professional who thrives on prospecting, outreach, and deal initiation, and who has hands-on experience submitting winning proposals, running cold outreach campaigns, and building a consistent sales pipeline.

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, engaging prospects, and converting leads into qualified sales conversations while working closely with leadership to align outreach efforts with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities through Upwork, cold calling, cold emails, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Research prospects, understand their business needs, and position Gray Line Medias services effectively

Draft, customize, and submit high-quality proposals on Upwork and other relevant platforms

Execute outbound sales campaigns via email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate qualified leads

Maintain and manage a structured sales pipeline, tracking outreach activity, responses, and conversions

Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule discovery calls with internal stakeholders

Follow up consistently with prospects to nurture relationships and move deals forward

Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to refine messaging, targeting, and outreach strategies

Track performance metrics such as response rates, booked meetings, and conversion rates, and continuously optimize outreach efforts

Stay up to date with sales tools, outreach best practices, and platform updates related to Upwork and LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, a similar degree or equivalent experience in technology sales
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or lead generation roles. This experience needs to be in selling digital services (web development, digital marketing, and related services)
  • Proven experience submitting proposals and closing leads via Upwork or similar freelance marketplaces
  • Strong experience with outbound sales techniques, including cold calling, cold emailing, and LinkedIn prospecting
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and CRM tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to personalize outreach effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects and conversations simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a performance-driven environment
