Job Description
- As a Technical Editor at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our editorial projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Experience in style and mechanical editing, including identifying and tagging all manuscript elements, reference editing, cross-checking, and handling extensive notes. Adequate knowledge of style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style, APA, AMA, MLA, and the Oxford Style Manual is required.
- Strong communication and comprehension skills, along with a passion for editing.
- Working with LaTeX files.
- Reviewing copyedited files from both in-house and freelance editors, providing constructive feedback, and mentoring other editors.
- Understanding client requirements and applying the appropriate style to manuscripts accordingly.
- Working effectively both as a team member and as an independent contributor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to publisher-specific guidelines.
- Knowledge of different workflows for books and journals.
Qualifications and Skills required for this role:
- Any Graduate with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in technical editing.
- In-depth understanding of style editing, including AMA, APA, Chicago, or similar styles.

- Ability to manage multiple assignments with consistent quality.
- Experience in editing humanities books/journal articles per client requirements and handling light, standard, and heavy styles.
- Reviewing journals/books/material edited by freelancers and in-house editors, validating the edits, providing constructive feedback, and taking accountability for the schedule and quality of projects assigned.
- Coordinating with other team members as required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with copy editing tools, PPT editing and review, familiarity with HTML editing environment, XML tagging, and knowledge of different workflows for books and journals.
