Job Description
ISTL Energy is looking for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Business Development Engineer Solar to drive growth in the UAE solar market.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with solar EPCs or developers, a strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, and proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and manage client relationships in Residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segments.
This role requires a self-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in Residential and C&I solar projects
- Generate leads through field visits, networking, cold calling, referrals, and partnerships
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and preliminary technical assessments
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and technical-commercial offers
- Coordinate with engineering and operations teams for project feasibility and execution
- Negotiate contracts and close sales deals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and developers
- Track sales pipeline and maintain CRM records
- Stay updated on UAE solar regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Net Metering policies)
- Represent ISTL Energy in exhibitions, industry events, and client meetings
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Renewable Energy / Mechanical preferred)
- Minimum 25 years of experience in business development or sales with a solar EPC or solar developer in UAE
- Proven experience in Residential and C&I solar projects
- Strong understanding of solar PV system design, components, and commercial models
Mandatory:
- Currently based in Dubai / UAE
- Valid UAE driving license
- Experience working with solar EPCs or developers
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits

Preferred (added advantage)
- Existing network in UAE solar / real estate / industrial sector
- Experience with DEWA Shams Dubai, ADDC, or other utility approvals
- Knowledge of PPA, CAPEX, and OPEX business models
- CRM experience
