Job Description
What role will you play in the team:
As an Investment Banking Analyst, you will be integral to the execution of M&A and capital markets transactions. You will work directly with senior bankers, contributing to financial analysis, valuation, and the creation of client presentations. You'll develop expertise in financial modeling and transaction support.
What you will do:
Your primary responsibilities will involve constructing and analyzing financial models, performing valuation analyses, and preparing pitch books and presentations for clients. You'll also conduct industry research, track market trends, and assist in the due diligence process for transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build detailed financial models, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analyses, to evaluate potential transactions.
- Conduct comprehensive company and industry research to identify trends and opportunities.
- Prepare pitch books, presentations, and other marketing materials to support deal origination and execution.
- Assist in the due diligence process by gathering and analyzing financial information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of financial information and market data.
- Collaborate with senior bankers on all aspects of transaction execution.
- Monitor market activity and competitive landscape.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Support the team in building and maintaining client relationships.
- Contribute to the development of internal knowledge and best practices.
Required Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field from a top-tier institution.
- Strong understanding of financial modeling techniques, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel, including the use of macros and VBA.
- Experience with financial databases such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, and Capital IQ.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of capital markets and investment banking products.
- Familiarity with M&A modeling tools and deal databases such as PitchBook and Dealogic.
- Basic accounting knowledge is a must.
