Job Description

What role will you play in the team:

As an Investment Banking Analyst in M&A Advisory, you will support senior bankers in executing deals, conducting research, and creating financial models. You'll contribute to building client relationships and preparing presentations for potential transactions, playing a crucial role in the deal-making process.

What you will do:

You will build detailed financial models, conduct industry research, prepare presentations for clients, and assist in the due diligence process. Your responsibilities will include analyzing financial statements, performing valuation analyses, and creating marketing materials to support M&A transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex financial models using Excel, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis.
  • Conduct thorough industry research and company-specific analysis to identify potential M&A targets.
  • Prepare detailed client presentations and pitch books to present investment banking ideas and transaction opportunities.
  • Assist in the due diligence process by gathering and analyzing financial, operational, and legal information.
  • Support senior bankers in negotiating and structuring M&A deals.
  • Monitor market trends and developments to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  • Maintain databases of financial information, transaction data, and company profiles.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including associates and vice presidents, to ensure the smooth execution of transactions.
  • Stay current with industry news, regulatory changes, and best practices in investment banking.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by providing support on various projects and initiatives.

Required Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel and valuation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with financial databases and research tools, such as Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, or Capital IQ.
  • Knowledge of M&A transactions, including valuation, deal structuring, and due diligence.
  • Demonstrated interest in investment banking and financial markets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work long hours and meet tight deadlines.
