Private Equity Investment Associate - Early Stage Ventures

What role will you play in the team: As a Private Equity Investment Associate, you will be integral to our early-stage venture investment team, conducting due diligence, financial modeling, and market research to identify promising investment opportunities within the Indian startup ecosystem. Your insights will directly influence investment decisions and portfolio performance.

What you will do: You will be responsible for evaluating potential investment targets, building financial models, performing valuation analyses, and preparing investment memos for presentation to the investment committee. You will also support portfolio companies with strategic initiatives and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and financial statement review.
• Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment returns and assess deal structures.
• Perform valuation analyses using various techniques, including DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis.
• Prepare investment memos and presentations to communicate investment recommendations to the investment committee.
• Monitor portfolio company performance and provide support with strategic initiatives, financial planning, and operational improvements.

• Source and screen potential investment opportunities through networking, industry events, and online platforms.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting the Indian startup ecosystem.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 0-1 year of experience in private equity, investment banking, or venture capital (internships considered).
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including proficiency in DCF, LBO, and comparable company analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases such as Capital IQ and PitchBook.
• Familiarity with Indian startup ecosystem and venture capital landscape.
