Cost Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team. The role focuses on analyzing production costs, monitoring inventory, and supporting management in decision-making related to cost efficiency, pricing, and profitability. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in cost accounting for manufacturing operations in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis

• Prepare and maintain detailed cost records for raw materials, labor, and overheads.
• Monitor and analyze production costs, variances, and profitability by product line or department.
• Assist in setting product pricing strategies based on cost and market data.
• Conduct standard costing and variance analysis (material, labor, and overhead).

Inventory & Material Management

• Maintain accurate inventory accounting and valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Ensure proper allocation of manufacturing costs to products and cost centers.
• Reconcile inventory and cost accounts on a monthly basis.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide cost-related information as required.

Process Improvement

• Recommend cost control measures and process improvements for manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to optimize costs and efficiency.

Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing company in the UAE.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
