Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Negotiation & Drafting: Draft and negotiate complex agreements, including IPP grants, Joint Bidding Agreements (JBAs), Loan Agreements, EPC Agreements, and Construction/Supply contracts.
- Regulatory Advisory: Provide expert guidance on the renewable energy/power generation regulatory framework and general business law.
- Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate legal risks resulting from business strategy and operations while ensuring full compliance with relevant laws.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate and complete comprehensive Due-Diligence (DD) and Title Search Reports (TSR).
- Litigation & Representation: Represent the company in courts, before government agencies, and during private legal matters.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the legal department's representative in liaison with various business units, ensuring ethics, compliance, and robust governance.
- Team & External Counsel Management: Manage a team and oversee the performance of external legal counsels to ensure high-quality delivery.

- Education: LLM/LLB with strong academic credentials.
- Experience: Minimum 12 to 15 years of legal experience, with a heavy focus on corporate and commercial matters.
- Industry Expertise: Solid knowledge of the legal issues surrounding an Independent Power Producer (IPP) and the associated regulatory frameworks.
- Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication, team management abilities, and the capacity to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
