Job Description

As a Software Test Engineer at our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all deliverables, including new features and enhancements of the overall product. Working as an integral part of the test team, you will collaborate in short cycles to develop functional software in quick iterations. Your role will involve closely working with the product team to understand requirements and user workflows. It is essential to collaborate with peer QA professionals to streamline and enhance QA processes and standards across the organization. Your dedication to finding bugs in the software developed by your team will be crucial.

You will be tasked with developing and executing test plans and test cases, as well as logging bugs with detailed reproduction steps. Your responsibility will also include assessing the performance, security, exploratory, and UX aspects of the product, in addition to functional testing. Furthermore, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of quality delivery and automation plans for projects. Raising defects/bugs, tracking them till closure in test management tools, and adapting to new tools as per project-specific needs will be part of your routine.
To be successful in this role, you should possess at least 2 years of Software Testing experience in Web applications and Android/iPhone platforms. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. A good understanding of agile software development methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum, along with experience in Manual Testing and SDLC processes, is required. Familiarity with Automated testing, DevOps, and defect tracking tools like Azure, JIRA, AMC, and Bugzilla is advantageous.

Moreover, knowledge of performance/load testing tools like Jmeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling would be beneficial. Hands-on experience in UI testing, understanding of Web fundamentals, and familiarity with emulator and simulator tools are desired. Experience working in a SaaS-based product company or a bootstrapped high-growth start-up would also be advantageous.
