Business Intelligence Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical BI Developer to join our

data team. The ideal candidate is a Power BI expert who combines strong

technical skills (SQL, DAX, Data Modelling) with the ability to tell compelling

stories through data. You will be responsible for transforming data into

meaningful insights, building high-performance dashboards, and helping

stakeholders make data-driven decisions. You are expected to have good

communication skills & a business aptitude as well.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard Development & Storytelling: Design and develop interactive,

visually appealing dashboards using Power BI that effectively tell a story.

Translate complex business requirements into clear visualizations (e.g.,

Executive Dashboards, Contribution Margin analysis).

DAX & Analysis: Write and optimize complex DAX queries to create

calculated columns, measures, and custom tables for advanced analytics.

ETL & Data Transformation: Utilize Power Query to clean, transform, and shape data from various sources before loading it into Power BI.

Data Warehousing: Collaborate with data engineers to query data

warehouses (specifically Big Query or Snowflake) using advanced SQL.

Required Qualifications (Must Haves)

Experience

25 years of hands-on experience in developing BI dashboards.

2+ years of experience working with Data Warehouses and writing Advanced

SQL (Window functions, CTEs, complex joins).

Technical Expertise

Power BI: Expert-level proficiency is mandatory.

DAX: Strong ability to write complex logic.

Power Query: Deep understanding of M language/Power Query for data

transformation.

Data Modeling: Solid understanding of Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and

relationship cardinality.

ETL: Strong understanding of Extract, Transform, Load processes.

Soft Skills

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Good communication skills with a strong business and domain-focused

mindset are a prerequisite

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

Cloud Data Warehousing: Specific experience with Google Big Query is highly

preferred; experience with Snowflake is a plus.

Domain Knowledge: Prior experience in the E-commerce industry.

Performance Optimization: Ability to tune and optimize dashboards for

speed and efficiency, ensuring a seamless user experience even with large

datasets.

Security Implementation: Experience in implementing and managing Row

Level Security (RLS) to ensure data access is restricted based on user roles and

geography.

AI Integration: Familiarity with Prompt Engineering and utilizing AI tools to

enhance productivity and workflow efficiency.
