Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Controller who can take complete ownership of the finance function and act as a business partner to the founders. This role requires deep expertise in end-to-end accounting, audit, GST, taxation, P&L ownership, along with strong exposure to investor readiness, financial modeling, M&A, company investments, and D2C business acquisitions.

This is a high-ownership, execution-heavy role suited for someone who has worked in fast-growing consumer or D2C companies and understands the realities of scale, compliance, and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Finance & Accounting (Core Ownership)

• Own complete accounting and financial reporting including monthly closures, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Manage D2C accounting complexities GST, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, returns/refunds, discounts, COD, and marketplace settlements
• Ensure accuracy and discipline in books, MIS, and financial controls
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow planning

Audit, GST & Taxation

• Lead statutory audit, internal audit, tax audit, and GST audit end to end
• Ensure complete GST compliance filings, reconciliations, notices, assessments, and ITC management
• Handle direct and indirect taxation including income tax, TDS, compliances, and assessments
• Strengthen audit readiness, documentation, and internal controls

Investor Readiness & Fundraising Support

• Prepare investor data, MIS, presentations, and financial models
• Build and manage data rooms for fundraising, diligence, and strategic discussions
• Support fundraising, investor interactions, and due diligence processes
• Work closely with founders on financial storytelling and performance metrics

M&A, Investments & Strategic Finance

• Support and execute M&A activities, including D2C business acquisitions
• Lead financial due diligence, valuation support, deal structuring, and post-merger integration (finance side)
• Manage company investments and treasury, including evaluation, portfolio design, liquidity planning, and returns analysis
• Provide strategic inputs on capital allocation and growth decisions

Processes, Controls & Business Partnering

• Build and strengthen finance SOPs, systems, and governance frameworks
• Act as a strategic finance partner to founders and leadership teams
• Provide clear financial insights to support scaling, profitability, and long-term growth
