Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Technical Managers across Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and ELV disciplines to support the delivery of major projects in Abu Dhabi, including Data Centre developments and other large-scale upcoming projects.

The Technical Manager will lead technical coordination, design compliance, technical submissions, and engineering support across the project lifecycle, ensuring works are delivered to the required standards, programme, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Delivery

• Lead all technical matters for your assigned discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, or ELV) across the project lifecycle
• Ensure design intent is fully understood and correctly translated into site execution
• Drive technical compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and international standards
• Provide technical direction to engineering teams, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers

Design Review and Coordination

• Review and manage technical aspects of IFC drawings, shop drawings, and coordinated models
• Identify design risks, clashes, and constructability issues early, and drive solutions with stakeholders
• Coordinate with other MEP disciplines, civil, architectural, and structural teams to ensure full integration

• Support BIM coordination and ensure technical accuracy within coordinated deliverables

Technical Submittals and Approvals

• Manage technical submissions including materials, method statements, calculations, and technical proposals
• Lead the review and approval process for supplier and subcontractor technical documents
• Ensure timely approvals to support procurement and construction programme

Installation Support and Site Technical Resolution

• Provide technical support to site teams to resolve issues, RFIs, and design clarifications
• Support commissioning planning and technical readiness for testing and handover
• Participate in technical inspections, quality audits, and progress reviews

Stakeholder and Client Interface

• Act as a key technical point of contact with consultants, clients, and specialist vendors
• Attend technical meetings and lead discipline-specific discussions where required
• Support project reporting and technical progress updates to senior management

Data Centre Experience (Preferred for Relevant Projects)

For Data Centre projects, the Technical Manager may also support:

• Technical coordination of critical infrastructure systems
• Interfaces between MEP systems and specialist packages
• High-availability systems, redundancy requirements, and commissioning readiness
• Vendor coordination and compliance with performance requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or related discipline)
• Professional certifications are advantageous (where applicable)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 8 to 15 years of relevant MEP technical experience within main contractors or MEP contractors
• Strong experience managing technical deliverables for large-scale projects (commercial, industrial, healthcare, infrastructure, data centres)
• UAE / GCC project experience is preferred
• Proven ability to lead technical coordination between multiple stakeholders

• Strong understanding of quality, compliance, and authority requirements
• Commercial awareness and ability to support programme-driven delivery
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Proficient with engineering documentation workflows and coordination tools

Reporting Line

Reports to: Project Director / Engineering Manager / MEP Manager (depending on project structure)
