Bharat Dynamics Limited

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Miniratna Category-I Public Sector Undertaking, was established in 1970 to be a manufacturing base for guided weapon systems and allied equipment. It is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Beginning by producing a 1st generation Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM)-SS11B1, BDL has gradually expanded its product range to manufacture Konkurs-M ATGMs, Milan-2T ATGMs, Akash Air Defence System, Astra Air-to-Air Missile, underwater weapons such as torpedoes, decoy systems and counter measure dispensing systems. BDL is also involved in providing product support to the Armed Forces. The Company has also diversified into related areas such as providing launching gear and test equipment for the missiles it manufactures.
