Tata Recruitment Process
Interview Process
Indicative process. The company does not publish its hiring process, so the steps below are compiled from publicly reported candidate experiences and placement sources. Rounds vary by role, experience level, campus and year – treat this as a guide, not a guarantee, and confirm current details with the company.
TCS hires most freshers in India through the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT). The process is generally reported as four stages:
- TCS NQT online test – Around 180 minutes, in English, in two parts. Part A covers cognitive skills (verbal ability, reasoning ability, numerical ability); Part B covers programming logic and hands-on coding.
- Technical interview – Core computer-science subjects, your final-year project, and programming depth.
- Managerial interview – Problem-solving, situational questions and role fit.
- HR interview – Communication, relocation and flexibility, background and documents.
Higher NQT bands can lead to the Digital and Prime offers rather than the base Ninja offer. Experienced hiring runs separately through the TCS careers portal and is usually a shorter technical-plus-HR sequence.
