About ACCA
A comprehensive examination of talent attraction and retention within the audit profession, conducted through a global survey and a series of roundtable discussions, reveals persistent challenges faced by audit firms worldwide. Despite concerted efforts, the profession struggles to attract and retain talent amid declining numbers of entrants.
In collaboration, ACCA and CA ANZ have amassed insights from over 6,500 survey respondents worldwide. Our findings highlight a prevalent concern about individuals' work–life balance, with calls for flexible working arrangements and a focus on remuneration. The perceived inadequacy of remuneration becomes pronounced when viewed in the context of a poor work-life balance, posing a pressing concern for the audit profession.
Empathy and respect in the workplace emerge as important considerations, recognising the multifaceted lives of employees. While audit firms implement various initiatives to address these concerns, the persistence of the challenge signals a necessity for more transformative changes.
