Paytm’s engineering hiring is generally reported as three to five rounds:

1. Online assessment – Coding and aptitude, mainly for campus and junior roles.
2. Technical rounds – Data structures and algorithms, plus low-level / OOP design, which is reported consistently as a Paytm emphasis.
3. System design round – For experienced candidates, often payments-flavoured (transactions, idempotency, reconciliation).
4. Hiring manager and HR rounds – Interviewers commonly probe what you actually owned in your current role and how you solved specific problems, rather than general theory.
