DSP Firmware Engineer

About the role :

We are hiring a Senior DSP Firmware Engineer to lead the development of baseband processing firmware for our next-generation advanced communication systems and wireless camera platforms.

You will work on coding and optimising firmware for the TMS320C6748 Fixed- and Floating-Point DSP, closely collaborating with our PHY layer development team.

Responsibilities :

• Develop, code, and optimize real-time baseband processing firmware on the TMS320C6748 DSP.
• Interface with the PHY layer team to integrate signal processing algorithms with system firmware.
• Implement and optimize key communication algorithms (modulation, error correction, synchronization).
• Optimize memory management (L1, L2 cache usage) and DMA (EDMA3) data flows.
• Develop firmware for high-performance, low-latency wireless transmission.
• Debug, profile, and validate real-time DSP firmware in lab environments.
  
• Support system bring-up, field testing, and fine-tuning for production.

Requirements :

• 7+ years of experience in DSP firmware development, preferably in wireless communication systems.
• Strong expertise with TI C6000 series DSPs (preferably TMS320C6748).
• Proficient in C/C++, TI Code Composer Studio, and DSP optimisation techniques.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Baseband processing (modulation/demodulation, FEC, synchronisation)
• Real-time signal processing for communication systems
• DMA management (EDMA3) and cache optimisation (L1/L2)
• Interrupt handling and low-level hardware interfaces
• Experience with wireless protocols or SDR-based designs is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with PHY layer, system, and hardware engineers.
• Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance tuning skills.

Skills :

• Knowledge of wireless standards (Wi-Fi, LTE, proprietary RF).
• Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and low-power optimisation.
• Experience working on video or image transmission applications is a strong advantage.
• Exposure to secure boot, encryption, or secure firmware development.
