Role Overview:
As a Cost Accountant, you will be a vital part of our finance team, responsible for analyzing and interpreting cost data to provide insightful recommendations for improved efficiency and profitability. Your day-to-day will involve meticulously examining production costs, operating budgets, and inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
You will collaborate closely with various departments, including manufacturing, procurement, and sales, to understand their operational processes and identify areas for cost optimization. Your expertise will directly impact the company's bottom line by driving cost-saving initiatives and enhancing decision-making through accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain standard costing systems to accurately track product costs and ensure inventory valuation aligns with accounting principles, supporting financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Conduct regular internal control assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, safeguarding company assets and minimizing financial risk.
- Prepare and present cost accounting reports to management, providing insights into cost trends and potential areas for cost reduction, enabling informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, improving operational efficiency and profitability across the organization.
- Oversee the month-end closing process related to cost accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the annual budget preparation process for manufacturing costs, working with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets, supporting financial planning and performance monitoring.

- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting principles, methodologies, and best practices, enabling accurate cost analysis and reporting.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Strong understanding of accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), facilitating efficient data management and reporting.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA) with a strong academic background in accounting and finance.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
