Head - Procurement

Description:
The GM Procurement will lead the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring reliable and cost-effective sourcing of base oils, additives, packaging materials, and services.
The role will be responsible for building strategic supplier partnerships, optimizing procurement costs, mitigating supply risks, and supporting the companys growth through robust sourcing strategies and supply continuity.
Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Develop and execute procurement strategies for key commodities (Base Oils, Additives) and packaging materials
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable global/local suppliers, fostering partnerships that improve cost, quality, and reliability.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead high-stakes negotiations to secure advantageous terms, prices, and supply security, managing contracts to ensure compliance.
- Supply Chain & Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, supply chain, finance, and quality teams to ensure alignment in procurement planning.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Monitor lubricant market trends, price fluctuations (commodity forecasting), and geopolitical risks to adjust purchasing strategies and avoid supply disruptions. Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Candidate experience and qualification:

Get Hired

- 15+ years of experience in procurement and strategic sourcing.
- Strong exposure to paints / coatings, lubricants, specialty chemicals
- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Supply Chain / related field
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain / Operations preferred
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Must have worked in a manufacturing industry preferably in a matrix environment.
