Are you already a Pensions Data Analyst, or know that you have all the prerequisite skills to move into such a role? If yes we have a fantastic opportunity suited to a data analyst individual with excellent analytical and data handling skills who is wanting to forge a career within a friendly, professional, small team of circa 5 in total including your line manager, in a soon to be 50-strong in-house pension department.


Excited by the sound of this role? You should be! In any given day you will support and have ownership of a range of pension fund data-related activities, providing a high-quality service to all stakeholders with a focus on accuracy, insight and added value. You will be working closely with all teams across the wider Pension's Team delivering subject matter expertise in support of shared goals and objectives. Providing data SME (Subject Matter Expert) input into and ensuring successful execution of the Funds Data Management Plan. Ensuring that the Fund adheres to tPR requirements regarding common and conditional data tests and future regulatory requirements are met. Managing of data provision from HR and Payroll.


You will help with data cleanse work and have the ability to undertake analysis to understand root causes of systemic data issues. Collaborating across the Department to enable effective decision-making regarding process changes to prevent these. You will provide data SME input to Project teams, Fund Events and across the Department as required. This could include (but is not limited to) feeding into project requirements, facilitating bulk member record updates and reporting to identify populations impacted by changes. You will maintain awareness of upcoming regulatory and technology changes impacting the Funds' data provision and requirements, and collaborate with the Change Team and Technical Team to assist with assessing impact of changes to the data needs and how data is recorded, enabling appropriate decision-making for all stakeholders and consideration of knock-on consequences. You will manage and support loading of transformed data to administration systems, analyse received, transformed, and migrated data for accuracy and gain an understanding of the Administration database and arrange periodic refresh of data held in non-Production environments and also, own documentation supporting the agreed selections of key member populations, developing and maintaining robust and repeatable data extraction / analysis procedures.


To undertake this role you will need a track record in data analysis, operating in the pension's industry, being at the least proficient on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, and willing to learn SQL. Acting as a data subject matter expert, you will provide reliable output and be able to communicate complex subject matters to a varied audience. You will possess knowledge (operational will help you) of the UK DB and DC data needs, ideally including payroll data items if possible, but again if you have pension's knowledge other areas can be learned.
