Job Title
Senior Analyst Regional Compensation
Location: Mumbai
Role Purpose: The Senior Analyst Regional Compensation is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations through third-party payroll vendors, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, statutory compliance, and seamless coordination with payroll vendors, accounting and finance teams. The role supports both India and selected global payrolls within a shared services environment, contributing to process efficiency, standardization, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing through external vendors for India and assigned global entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and SLA adherence.
- Act as the primary liaison with payroll vendors and coordinate payroll calendars, cut-offs, and sign-offs with HR and Finance.
- Review payroll outputs including salary calculations, incentives, arrears, statutory deductions, and final settlements.
- Ensure accurate payroll accounting, including payroll journals, accruals, reconciliations, and support for month-end and year-end closures.
- Coordinate salary disbursements, statutory payments, and third-party payments with finance and treasury teams.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance and support global payroll compliance through vendor and stakeholder coordination.
- Support statutory filings, audits (internal and external), and timely closure of audit observations.
- Operate within a shared services payroll model, driving process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Tax, and Legal teams to resolve payroll issues and manage employee payroll queries with confidentiality and accuracy.
Technical & Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of India payroll structures, salary components, taxation, and statutory compliances.
- Working knowledge of global payroll concepts, including gross-to-net processing, statutory deductions, and country-specific variations.
- Experience working with third-party payroll vendors and shared services payroll models.
- Good understanding of payroll accounting, GL postings, and reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with payroll and related systems (Workday, or vendor payroll platforms).

- Strong Excel skills for payroll analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Exposure to HRMS, time & attendance, and finance systems D365 is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and compliance orientation.
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Experience in payroll operations, preferably in a shared services or multi-country environment.
- Prior experience handling India payroll is mandatory; exposure to global payrolls is strongly preferred.
