Job Description

Role Objective:

The Senior Manager - Sales & Business Development is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales growth, value-based selling, and business expansion in domestic and Rest of World (ROW) markets for Vantage Nutrition. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of sales acumen, expertise in nutritional science or pharmaceuticals, and significant experience in nutraceutical supplements and dosage forms. This individual will play a critical role in achieving revenue targets, fostering strategic partnerships, and establishing Vantage Nutrition as a leading name in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement sales and business development strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities in domestic and global markets, creating plans to penetrate new geographies and customer segments.
  • Ensure alignment of sales initiatives with long-term business goals.

2. Revenue Growth and Market Expansion:

  • Drive the achievement of revenue and profitability targets by leveraging market intelligence and competitive analysis.
  • Lead efforts to introduce innovative product offerings, focusing on value-added propositions for customers.
  • Monitor and adapt to industry trends, regulatory updates, and market dynamics to ensure sustained growth.

3. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Leverage CRM tools to manage and analyze customer data, driving data-backed decisions and identifying new business opportunities.

4. Product Portfolio Innovation:

  • Work closely with the Product Development and Operations teams to develop a robust and innovative product pipeline.
  • Collaborate with ingredient suppliers to bring clinically supported, market-ready products to customers.

5. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the Sales and Business Development team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.

6. Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure effective use of CRM systems, SAP, and other tools to streamline sales operations and track performance metrics.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of sales activities, market research, and customer interactions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of sales revenue and profitability targets.
  • Expansion of customer base and penetration into new markets.
  • Growth and diversification of the product portfolio.
  • Development and retention of a high-performing sales team.

Internal Stakeholders:

  • Business Unit Head
  • Product Development Team
  • Operations, Regulatory, and Finance Teams

External Stakeholders:

  • Key Customers and Accounts
  • Ingredient Suppliers and Strategic Partners

Education:

  • MBA (preferably from an Aspire College or similar premier institutes).
  • Additional qualifications in nutritional science or pharmaceuticals would be advantageous.

Experience:

810 years in sales and business development within:

  • Nutraceutical companies or Nutra divisions of pharmaceutical companies.
  • FMCG companies focused on health and wellness products.
  • Startups in OTC health/nutra
  • Branded ingredient companies
  • Strong background in nutritional science or pharmaceuticals.
  • Familiarity with value-based selling in nutraceutical supplements and dosage forms.

Skillset:

  • Proven track record in value-based selling.
  • Comprehensive understanding of nutraceutical supplements, including formulation, development, and marketing.
  • Strategic thinking with experience in market penetration across domestic and ROW markets.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, especially in B2B environments.

  • Expertise in sales strategy, market positioning, and business development.
