About Global Merchant and Network Product Team

The Global Merchant and Network Product teamis at the heart of American Express. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, serving our Issuing & Acquiring partners in more than 170 markets worldwide. We grow revenue by driving strategic, multi-year initiatives to deliver differentiated value to our merchants, partners, and customers.

The Global Merchant and Network Capability Delivery teamworks to deliver digital products and services for merchants, network acquirers and issuers, and payment facilitators such as ATM/debit, point of sale authorizations & submissions, transaction pricing, disputes and settlement that meet the evolving demands of our global payment network. The wide range of solutions we develop enable the enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to regulatory demands, and process new/emerging types of payments. A role on this team will challenge you to broaden your business solution design, agile product, data stewardship, quality assurance and operational readiness skills while incorporating an industry perspective in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Product Delivery & Integration Director to join the GMNS Capability Delivery team within Global Merchant and Network. This position will oversee the end-to-end delivery of cross-functional products, engaging with various technology and product teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and delivering capabilities in alignment with the GMNSstrategic roadmaps.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with Product Management, the Envisioning Team, Product Owners,GMNS capability owners, and other stakeholders to advance program outcomes that enhance delivery predictability and support best-in-class product delivery across the organization. We welcome applicants who are passionate about leading agile delivery initiatives in complex and rapidly evolving environments.

What youll do:

  • Partner with stakeholders to define and align strategic objectives.

    • Manage relationships across multiple business stakeholders as well as technology, finance, and compliance partnerships.

    • Lead cross functional programs and project teams.

    • Drive innovation and product development within a dynamic, agile environment.

    • Optimize delivery aligned with technology and business priorities.

    • Foster continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics.

    • Partner with Technology leaders across the enterprise to support and drive programs and project delivery.

    • Promote the creation of high-quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables across Product Delivery & Integration teams.

    • Ensure consistent and accurate project communications and expectations

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes & experience:

  • 10+ years of Program Management experience developing and managing complex programs / projects / products.

    • Proven ability to influence and gain alignment at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills across band levels, locations, and time zones.

    • Ability to translate strategy into clear and specific objectives and plans.

      Passion for sharing knowledge and understanding.

    • Experience managing the full product management lifecycle that requires a deep understanding of business domain and technical expertise in payments - a plus.

    • Experience in Agile / SAFe principles and frameworks, quality and testing best practices.

    • Payments industry experience, preferably including understanding of Network and payment technology and processing for debit/credit processing and policy and operations

    • Partner Payments Enablement experience preferred.
