Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Safety Strategy Development and Implementation: Develop and drive comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and systems tailored for power and energy projects to ensure alignment with statutory regulations and Adanis global safety standards.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Management: Lead detailed risk assessments and hazard identification exercises across project sites. Implement proactive risk mitigation plans to minimize potential incidents and operational disruptions.
- Safety Audits and Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and compliance checks at project locations to identify gaps and enforce corrective actions promptly, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Oversee thorough investigations of safety incidents and near-misses to determine root causes, develop preventive measures, and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Training and Capacity Building: Design and facilitate safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to build safety competency across project teams, contractors, and subcontractors, encouraging a culture of shared responsibility.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal safety teams to promote safety best practices, facilitate communication, and resolve safety-related challenges effectively.
- Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills tailored for project sites, ensuring readiness to handle potential safety incidents or disasters.
- Continuous Improvement and Reporting: Use data-driven insights and industry best practices to continuously enhance safety performance, preparing periodic safety performance reports and dashboards for leadership review.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to safety officers and team members, fostering a high-performance safety culture aligned with Adanis values of care and collaboration.
- Environmental and Social Responsibility: Ensure that safety practices also consider environmental protection and social impacts, supporting Adanis sustainability commitments and community safety goals.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards specific to the power and energy sector (e.g., Electrical Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Regulations).
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems (SMS).
- Experience with incident investigation tools and root cause analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with safety audit processes and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to utilize safety-related software and data analytics tools for reporting and monitoring.
- Understanding of project management principles and construction safety practices.

Education Qualification
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
