Software BI QA Tester

We're looking for an experienced BI Quality Assurance Tester to work on our Business Intelligence product.
The product is built on the Microsoft BI stack and is sold to legal firms to help provide the required knowledge to drive their practice. The product is designed to provide the legal practitioner with details around trends on key metrics, compare their performance against pre-configured KPI’s and also to derive information around their financial performance and measure profitability.
As a fully featured BI product it requires someone who is conversant with the key BI technologies and can install and configure the requisite software and help us define and execute the test plans to test what is a technical product.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ year’s in-depth experience as a QA tester in the software engineering field with an appropriate tertiary qualification.

• Senior level test skills including requirement gathering, test planning and test scenario identification

• Understanding of the BI database structures (Data Warehouse, ETL, Star Schema, Slowly Changing Dimensions, etc)

• Experience with using T-SQL to interrogate data

• You will have experience with test management tools (TFS Test Manager or similar).

• Passionate to help define what quality is at the team and organization level, and enable teams to own and pursue

quality goals as part of their delivery

• Passionate about leading the continuous improvement of our testing discipline.

• Well organized, and able to effectively prioritize workloads and focus in on what is really important.

. The ability to drive outcomes and strong performance across the team

Nice to Have

• Exposure to data, data platforms and Business Intelligence solutions.

• Team player who can work within a tight team environment and communicate effectively.

• Prior experience with either Power BI or Cognos would be an advantage
