DH Plant Capex Lead

Job Purpose

. To oversee budgeting for routine and strategical capex, monitor procurement and related cash flows and implementation of strategic capex and shutdowns for implementation of projects for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation as well as civil, structural and building maintenance
. To take responsibility for IT functions and CP administration and also monitor compliance of all quality, safety, health, environment parameters and statutory stipulations in area of jurisdiction through continuous upgradation of the team and improvement initiatives towards sustainability.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context:
The Central Maintenance function of FRP of Hindalco Industries Limited at Hirakud has a Hot Mill, a Cold Mill, and a Finishing Line operating as self-contained units.
This role is responsible for overseeing the budgeting process for routine items as well as for strategical capex (50 crores jurisdiction). An important aspect is monitoring related cash flows for acquiring items as per budget and monitoring timely completion within budget. This role is also responsible for CP-Admin role for etrack system where this role is validating the project documentation for proposal . This is also includes monitoring of civil and structure maintenance R & M cost, which is a part of cost of production.
A critical aspect of the role is implementation of strategic capex. It includes identification of returnable project, projects for flood protection and capitalisation of projects as per plan. This role is responsible for after project fine tuning jobs with vendors for production rampup and stablisation. It involves facilitating shutdowns in collaboration with reliability head and vertical heads for project implementation to improve efficiencies through mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, projects. Land acquisition for future expansion and projects for export markets are key elements of the role.
This role is also responsible for civil and structure maintenance including maintenance of buildings, plant shed, roads, civil jobs for equipment installation/modification , carpentry job ,plants as well as draughtsman services across sections.
Another critical aspect of the role procurement through plant or corporate purchasing department. It involves coordination with finance for budgetary approvals and compliances as per SOP for high value expenditure.
Another critical aspect of this role is to network with Business partner and sister units for benchmarking for best practice in project management.
This role is responsible for developing the team for capex planning to support all the concerned verticals and develop team members for project monitoring under Hindalco Management framework.
This role is also required to monitor and guide the team in compliance of all safety, health, environment parameters and statutory stipulations through continuous upgradation of the team and improvement initiatives towards sustainability.
