Air India - Chief Manager - Revenue Management System Enhancement

JOB PURPOSE:
Drive the assessment, procurement, and implementation of cutting-edge ancillary, pricing, and revenue management systems. Oversee the development and integration of AI/ML and operations research-based solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and profitability across revenue processes.
- To support the enhancement and continuous improvement of ancillary, pricing and revenue management systems, ensuring they improve upon Air Indias revenue generation goals.
- To assist in the integration of advanced technological solutions and enhancements into existing revenue management processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and profitability.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
New Systems Procurement & Implementation:
- Support the selection and procurement processes for advanced ancillary, pricing and revenue management systems, collaborating with vendors to secure optimal technology solutions.
- Aid in the coordination and implementation of new systems, ensuring they integrate smoothly with existing IT and revenue management frameworks with minimal operational disruption.
System Enhancement and Optimization:
- Collaborate in the assessment and enhancement of existing revenue management systems and other third party systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary upgrades to optimize performance using operations research.
Project Coordination and Implementation Support:
- Assist in managing projects related to system enhancements, coordinating with IT and revenue management teams to ensure smooth integration and minimal operational disruption.
Operations Research:

- To guide and manage the creation and enhancement of new technological solutions using operation research techniques and AI/ ML into existing revenue management processes, ensuring they enhance efficiency, accuracy, and profitability.
- Utilizing advanced analytical techniques to analyze historical data, forecast demand, and optimize pricing strategies.
- Automate existing manual processes within revenue management to improve efficiency and reliability.
Product Management:
- Guide in developing, managing, and optimizing products and solutions by strategy and roadmap planning, requirement gathering and product development to drive product adoption and satisfaction.
- Help develop a clear roadmap and implementation plan for Air India to move into Offer Order environment. Analyze the most optimal products and vendor platforms available to reach this stage.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
- Help establish and monitor key performance indicators for new revenue management systems and third party tools, analyzing their effectiveness and contributing to adjustments that maximize revenue performance.
Data Analytics & Modelling:
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to analyze historical data, forecast demand, and optimize pricing strategies.
- Help develop improved demand forecasting and inventory optimization models using analytical techniques.
Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support the management of relationships with technology vendors and industry partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Collaborative Teamwork:
- Participate in cross-functional teams to align system enhancement initiatives with overall business strategies and revenue goals.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Management, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum: 8 years experience in revenue management, operations research, project management, or technology, preferably within the airline or travel industry.
- Desired: 11+ years of strong background in implementing and enhancing revenue management systems, with a proven track record of improving revenue operations.
