Job Description

As an experienced Android Developer with 5-8 years of experience, you will have the opportunity to shape mobile experiences that save lives at Ajmera Infotech Private Limited (AIPL) in Bangalore. You will be part of a 120-engineer team responsible for powering planet-scale systems for global innovators. Specifically, you will join a specialized Android squad dedicated to building FDA-compliant, Kotlin-first apps for a billion-dollar health-tech platform (client name confidential). These apps will be utilized on tablets and phones by clinicians and patients worldwide, emphasizing the criticality of software reliability.

In this role, you will be involved in exciting initiatives such as crafting new modules in Jetpack Compose, refactoring existing code into clean architecture, integrating BLE peripherals, ensuring secure real-time data sync, implementing offline workflows, and incorporating custom camera, barcode, and biometrics functionalities. You will have the opportunity to influence architecture, CI/CD processes, security measures, and performance enhancements right from the start. Furthermore, you will collaborate globally with experts from the US and EU on coding standards, code reviews, and mobile DevOps practices.
Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining high-performance Android apps primarily in Kotlin with a focus on Jetpack Compose. You will lead the migration from XML to Jetpack Compose, implement MVVM/Clean Architecture patterns, integrate REST/gRPC services, WebSockets, and low-energy Bluetooth devices, and optimize for battery, memory, accessibility, and security. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing various types of tests, mentoring mid-level engineers, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with design, backend, and QA teams to achieve sprint goals and compliance requirements.

To excel in this role, you must possess 5-8 years of Android development experience, with at least 3 years in Kotlin and a strong understanding of Jetpack components. You should have practical experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, MVVM, Dagger/Hilt, Room, WorkManager, and unit/UI testing frameworks. Familiarity with integrating BLE, secure REST/GraphQL APIs, real-time sockets, Play Store policies, rollout tracks, and crash analytics tools like Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry is essential. Proficiency in Git, code review processes, and Agile-Scrum methodologies is also required.
While exposure to medical, fintech, or other regulated domains and experience with Flutter or React Native are considered nice-to-have skills, the primary focus will be on your Android development expertise and your ability to contribute effectively to the creation of critical health-tech software.,
