Akzo Nobel - Factory Commercial Manager/Site Controller

1. Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job :
- The Site Controller acts as a Finance Business Partner to the Site team and supports the development and execution of the Manufacturing Site strategy
- Provide consistent and insightful management information (both forward looking and retrospective) to Management Team on the integral P&L and Balance sheet.
- Fulfil requirements around management reporting, forecasting and budgeting. Drive continuous improvement.
- Deal with ad hoc questions and analysis, therefore, require a high degree of Commercial and ISC knowledge to build strong relationships with the Business.

3. Responsibilities :
- Site Controller will drive performance This will start with recognizing & owning the financial targets and being committed to realize them. Delivers relevant financial analysis and engage with the site team to monitor performance, identifying risks and opportunities, proactively anticipates gaps and mobilises the Site to close the same.
- Ensures accounting/reporting for Site operations in scope are in line with company accounting policies. Ensure that management reporting is transparent and optimized.
- Fixed Manufacturing Cost (FMC) overhead recovery review on a quarterly basis review overhead recovery data and actions in relation to over/under recovery.
- Drive all Continuous Improvement, value engineering initiatives.
- Ensures compliance to Inventory Count policy, Inventory Provisioning policy.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive SLOB down with involvement in monthly SLOB meetings, understand reasoning for SLOB creation and ways for reducing/eliminating.
- Internal Controls ensure timely completion of all assigned internal controls. Act as quality reviewer for the Site related controls and ensure adequacy prior to submission. Work with Internal Control representative to establish the appropriate internal control framework, drive culture of compliance in the Site.
- Investment decision - through review of capex business cases to ensure correct investment decision.
- Fixed assets Ensure annual count of fixed assets is completed. Monthly review of open FA-WIP projects to ensure timely capitalization of open projects.
- Review monthly report for open process orders. Work with Site team to ensure timely closure of process orders
- Process order variances review monthly process order variances to fully understand reasons for process losses/gains. Investigate material variances.
- Work with other site controllers in determining and implementing the manufacturing optimization opportunities
4. Job Requirements :
Experience & Educational Requirements and skills:
- CA/CWA with 5-7 years of experience in a business environment or functional area
- Good understanding of the drivers of the business both Commercial and ISC
- Strong analytical skills to analyze, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision making.
- Strong grasp of key finance processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with both senior and junior finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Able to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent excel, PowerPoint skills and should possess SAP expertise.
