AVP Operational Risk (EMKAN)

Job Purpose:

To support issue Resolution for the business units through conducting effective risk assessments at process levels and enhancing the control environment to mitigate potential risks. To provide effective governance and oversight and execution support to drive a best-in-class Operational Risk program within the guidelines of Operational Risk Management Standards.

Functional Accountabilities:

Build the Operational Risk Function and embed the Operational Risk culture among company staff by setting the right communication skills and tools. Support the operational risk management team that actively collaborates with all business heads to identify, manage and mitigate areas of operational risk that might arise from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems, or external events. Support the design & development of an industry leading "best in class" operational risk program. Contribute to Business continuity program implementation Ensure there are ongoing and adequate monitoring, testing and reporting of operational risk. Plan, develop, implement and review a wide range of activities to reduce operational risk and improve organizational performance. Monitor the progress of open corrective actions & ensure that root causes are addressed through follow-up with testing & verification. Embed an operational risk culture to promote transparency and accountability for inherent risk and controls. Monitor operational, corporate and regulatory\legal developments, assess impacts & provide oversight to ensure they are effectively communicated and appropriate actions are taken. Adherence to all regulations and control function within the company in order to ensure that governance, Audit, risk and compliance matters are carried out. Fully adherence to the cybersecurity policies, processes, standards and regulations. Preparation of reports for tracking all related Operational Risk activities. Maintain the confidentiality of information that they have access to or came across during their employment at EMKAN.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or any other relevant field (Master’s degree is preferred). Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in Information Security Function.
