Job Description
Alcon is looking to hire Business Systems Analyst in Digital Solutions, the successful candidate will support the Alcon digital transformation through implementation of LabVantage ELN and LIMS solutions for Alcon R&D, provide business systems master data development, and support day-to-day system usage. Alcon is looking for a candidate that has experience in the following platforms: LabVantage LIMS and LabVantage ELN solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position will report to the System Business Owner, located in Fort Worth, Texas USA.
- Master Data creation within LabVantage to support business needs, including but not limited to: parameter lists, test methods, specifications, instrument types and models, consumables and more.
- Facilitate simple instrument connection business process including command and parsing script development based on business needs, master data promotion and coordination with local IT teams and laboratory associates for performance qualification of commands and parsing scripts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, system administrators, and end-users, to gather and understand requirements and business needs for enterprise data systems for LabVantage LIMS, ELN and LES system enhancements and modifications.
- Collaborate with QA and testing teams to ensure the quality and stability of developed solutions before deployment.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for existing LabVantage LIMS, LES and ELN implementations, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in LabVantage LIMS, LES and ELN, proactively applying this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
- Participate in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases relating to new systems or potential system changes.
- Responsibilities include driving requirements gathering and authoring these along with additional documentation (workflows, SOPs, Validation Plans, etc.), while serving as point-of-contact with R&D customers.
- Working under the System Business Owner to respond to R&D customer questions and issues quickly.
- Improved system performance and user experience.
- Bachelors degree in technical or science field.
- Proven 3 to 5 years of experience in: LabVantage LIMS, LES and ELN
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies, including performance qualifications.
- Understanding of FDA Computer Software Assurance methodologies is desirable.
- Experience with LabVantage scripting for simple instrument parsing.
- Experience in Lean tools and continuous improvement processes in a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to successfully work with global Alcon R&D personal from multiple countries and time zones.

- Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Validation, Project Management and GMP environment experience are also desired.
- Should be experienced with the system administration and maintenance activities of the LabVantage LIMS application
