The Finance & Accounts and Taxation will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and directing all financial activities of alliantTALENT. This includes developing and executing financial strategy, managing financial reporting and compliance, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, managing risk, and providing strategic financial insights to support the firms growth and profitability.

The Senior Director will partner closely with the CEO, COO, CAO (USK) and with other executive leaders to drive business performance and ensure the financial health and stability of the organization.

Reports To: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

What youll be doing:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Excellent knowledge in Accounting & Tax (direct & indirect).
  • Develop and implement the overall financial strategy in alignment with the firms strategic goals.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on key business decisions, including growth initiatives, investments, and operational improvements.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain long-range financial plans and models to support the firms strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic partnerships from a financial perspective.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the firms assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working collaboratively with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
  • Develop and maintain robust forecasting models to project future financial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor budget performance against actual results, analyze variances, and provide insightful reporting to management.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and regulatory risk.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the firms insurance programs.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Manage the firms cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain banking relationships.
  • Oversee investment activities in accordance with the firms investment policy.
  • Manage foreign currency transactions and hedging strategies, as applicable.

Technology and Systems:

  • Evaluate and implement financial accounting and reporting systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure the effective use of technology to streamline financial processes.

Team Leadership:

    Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Business Partnering:

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, COO and other members of the executive leadership team.
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand their business needs and provide financial insights to support their decision-making.
  • Communicate financial information effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

What are we looking for:

  • Must be a Chartered Accountant.
  • 18+ years of proven experience in finance, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in a senior finance professional role within a consulting firm or professional services environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing financial strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience with financial accounting software.
  • Ability to work in a start-up culture
