About the Role

Continuous innovation is the DNA of Amara Raja. Innovation comes from incremental improvement and leap frogging innovation. While ARACT pays 80-90% of focus on short term incremental improvement, we need to pay high quality of attention to leap frogging innovation. When the organization faces challenges in short term goal, it may risk longer term innovation. This role will keep ARACT to pay high quality of attention to leap frogging innovation in next gen chemistry development with start up business development mindset.

Responsibilities

• 
  Incubating future technologies by leading a team of next generation chemistry development covering Na-ion batteries, Solid state batteries, Li-S batteries, and Metal-air batteries.
• Creating partnerships with next generation tech development start-ups, universities, and institutions.
• Management of next generation chemistry development lab.
• Building efficiency throughout Centers of Excellence.
• Tech transfer to product design team and process engineering team.

Accountability for

• Accountable for next gen chemistry development roadmap.
• Accountable for empowering team members.
• Account for high quality efficiency in the way of working in Centers of Excellence.

Qualifications

• PhD with10+ work experience [5+ year industrial experience and 3+ year team management and hands on innovation tech development in a start-up environment].

Required Skills

• Work experience in different cultures like Europe and US is a plus.
• Acumen business development with high level understanding on science and engineering.
• Material Science (Material synthesis and Instrumental analysis) in lithium ion and next gen batteries.
• Electrochemistry.
• Battery manufacturing process of lithium ion and next gen batteries.
• Business development work flow.
• IP management (patent, trade secret, and publication).
